Christian Schmidt is the principal of the Schmidt Law Group in San Francisco, California and serves as Of-Counsel at Horn, Khalaf, Abuzir & Mitchell in Chicago, Illinois. Being an immigrant from Germany himself, he worked for prominent, nationally known law firms in San Francisco, Chicago and New Orleans before founding the Schmidt Law Group.

Mr. Schmidt is licensed to practice in the areas of immigration and naturalization in any State. He is also admitted to practice law in Germany as a member of the Hanseatic Bar Association in Hamburg where he represents German businesses in various industries.

He has counseled clients, across the country and abroad, in matters involving immigration and naturalization, intellectual property, and general corporate law. He specializes in the practice of most areas of U.S. Immigration and Nationality Law, with a concentration on nonimmigrant and immigrant working visas and alien employment certification matters for domestic and multi-national employers, health care facilities, and entertainers, as well as family-based immigration and naturalization matters.

Mr. Schmidt has spoken at several seminars concerning immigration topics, traveled overseas in cooperation with the German-American Chamber of Commerce advising German companies regarding their expansion into the U.S. market or in assisting a U.S. medical institution in its recruitment for registered nurses in the Philippines.
