Christian Schmidt is the principal of the Schmidt Law Group in San Francisco, California and serves as Of-Counsel at Horn, Khalaf, Abuzir & Mitchell in Chicago, Illinois. Being an immigrant from Germany himself, he worked for prominent, nationally known law firms in San Francisco, Chicago and New Orleans before founding the Schmidt Law Group.

Mr. Schmidt has counseled clients, across the country and abroad, in matters involving all aspects of U.S. Immigration and Nationality Law. He specializes in the practice of business immigration matters with a concentration on nonimmigrant and immigrant business visas and Labor Certification/PERM for domestic and multi-national employers, health care facilities, and entertainers. He frequently advises foreign investors in obtaining authorization to work for their U.S. businesses or obtaining permanent residence through an investment into a U.S. business or Regional Center. Mr. Schmidt also frequently assists clients in successfully applying for permanent resident status (Green Card) through the marriage to a U.S. citizen spouse or other family immigration avenues as well as naturalization matters. He regularly represents clients in Immigration Court to secure their release from detention or avoid deportation from the United States.

Mr. Schmidt has spoken at several seminars concerning immigration topics, traveled overseas in cooperation with the German-American Chamber of Commerce advising German companies regarding their expansion into the U.S. market or in assisting a U.S. medical institution in its recruitment for registered nurses in the Philippines.
